The Glassblowing Process
How is an ash memorial made?
A small amount of glass is applied to a large solid rod. That glass is carefully rolled over cremains, which naturally adhere to the surface of the glass. Another layer of glass is placed over the ash to forever encapsulate it. A small amounts of frit (glass that is densely colored and crushed) is then applied and shaped into the design of your choice. One final layer of glass is added and the glass is molded into its final shape.
